Varkert Bazaar in Budapest 6
This statue (by Adolf Huszar) in front of Varkert Bazaar is one of four representing the four seasons. She symbolizes Fall. Varkert Bazaar, built between 1875 and 1883 in Neo-Renaissance style is located right under the Royal Palace on the Danube River shore in Budapest. The building housed the so called Youth Park between 1961 and 1984, with countless concerts and other recreational activities for the young people. After it closed, it was basically abandoned, and it deteriorated rather quickly. I took a few pictures of the decaying building in the summer of 2012. The building complex was restored (is being restored at the moment), and part of it has already opened to visitors. visitors.
